Title: Bad Alibi
Author: Jessica Prince
Series: Redemption
Genre: Contemporary Romance

You first met the sexy biker, Cannon Banks in Out of the Darkness.
Now he gets his own story in the first book of a brand new series!
Are you ready to travel back to his home town of Redemption, Tennessee?
It’s going to be a wild ride.

Having grown up trapped in a gilded cage, the events of one tragic night changed everything.
Farah Highland was raised with more money than most people could ever dream of, but with that wealth and privilege came cold indifference and cruelty. Determined to start living for herself, Farah cut ties with everything and everyone she’d ever known for the chance at starting over in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains.
Notorious town playboy, Cannon Banks grew up living the good life. He had it all, loving parents, good friends, and a face and body that drove women wild. Love and commitment were the last things on his mind . . . until he locked eyes with a woman across a crowded bar, and everything changed in a heartbeat.
There’s just one problem. Bad Alibi’s newest waitress wants nothing to do with him. But he’s nothing if not determined.
Cannon and Farah are about to enter into a battle of wills.
May the best man . . . or woman, win.

Lifting the beer bottle to my lips, I took a pull as I stared around in wonder at my new house. Typically, I would have toasted something as awesome as moving into my brand new dream home with a glass of champagne, but I lived in a biker town and I was dating a biker. There was no way the people in my life now were going to drink champagne, so when Darla and Buck showed up to join in the celebration, they brought a case of beer with them.
And I was just fine with that.
The last moving truck had taken off five minutes earlier, and even though every piece of furniture was right where it was supposed to be, there was still a lot of work to be done. Unlike Cannon, I fully intended to put my stamp on this beautiful old Victorian. There were boxes to unpack, art and pictures to hang, and toss pillows to toss. It would take several more shopping trips to fill all the space; a challenge I was more than up for.
But all of that could wait. I was finally home, and that was the only thing that mattered to me.
Clay and his men had done better than I could have imagined. Every room was warm and inviting and absolutely perfect. They’d even worked a miracle with my bedroom walls. You couldn’t even see the crappy paint job I’d done when you looked at it now.
I thought back to that very first day, when I’d stepped through that front door into a dilapidated pit. I thought back to the warmth rooting in my chest, and I knew I’d never forget that moment, because it was the exact same warmth I felt as I looked at all my friends and family gathered in my new kitchen, drinking beer and cutting up.
Bennett and Jase were there. Cannon, Shane, Brantley, and Poppy. Banks had shown up with Bev earlier to help with the move. Scooter was there with his wife, along with Danno and Fletch. Several of my regulars at the bar had come bearing housewarming gifts. Everyone I cared about was standing in this room, and as I looked around, I discovered something that had me dangerously close to tears.
I didn’t have enough chairs.
“What’s on your mind, sweet pea?” Jase asked, coming over and slinging his arm around my shoulders. “This is supposed to be a happy day, and you look like you’re about to start crying.”
“I don’t have enough chairs,” I whispered, my voice scratchy with emotion.
He looked down at me like I had lost my mind. “You’re about to burst into tears because you don’t have enough chairs? That’s an easy enough fix, Farah. Or have you forgotten you’re loaded?”
I let out a watery laugh and smacked him in his stomach. “It’s not that, you jerk. I’m not upset.”
“Then what is it?”
“All my life, I’ve only had two people, Jase. You and Bennett, that’s it. And that was always enough for me. I was lucky, having the two of you. But now . . . now I have this.” I waved my arm out. “Now I have so many people who mean something to me that I don’t have enough chairs for them all to sit in. So, yeah, I’m close to crying, but it’s only because I’m incredibly, stupidly happy.”

Bad Alibi is the first book in The Redemption series.

This is a spin-off of The Hope Valley series (one of my favorite series) and after reading the first book I know this series is going to be my favorite too.

Farah Highland is in Redemption to start a new life. Growing up her insanely rich parents were cold and cruel. She’s leaving everything behind to start living for herself.

Love Farah’s character. She was strong but also very sweet.

We met Cannon Banks in Out of Darkness.

He’s a playboy and lives his live without commitment.

But when he sees the beautiful Farah across the room he is intrigued and very interested in her.

Cannon was hot!! But he was also very protective of Farah. Love his character.

Love the secondary characters in this book and can’t wait where this series will take us. Hope that Jase’s book is next.

My Rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Born and raised around Houston Texas, Jessica spent most of her life complaining about the heat, humidity, and all around pain in the ass weather. It was only as an adult that she quickly realized the cost of living in Houston made up for not being able to breathe when she stepped outside. That’s why God created central air, after all.
Jessica is the mother of a perfect little boy–she refuses to accept that he inherited her attitude and sarcastic nature no matter what her husband says.
In addition to being a wife and mom, she’s also a wino, a coffee addict, and an avid lover of all types of books–romances still being her all time favs. Her husband likes to claim that reading is her obsession but she just says it’s a passion…there’s a difference. Not that she’d expect a boy to understand.
Jessica has been writing since she was a little girl, but thankfully grew out of drawing her own pictures for her stories before ever publishing her first book. Because an artist she is not.

RELEASE BLITZ and MY REVIEW of Just Kidding by Lani Lynn Vale.

Let’s do a calendar, they said. It’ll be fun, they said.
Well, they—i.e. Kilgore Police Department’s public relations specialists—were wrong.
Now, every time Dax Tremaine walks around a corner, the women of Kilgore, Texas can’t help calling him Mr. January.
Mr. January, can you fix my flat tire? Mr. January, can you cuff me? Mr. January, can you sign my boob?
It goes from bad to worse when even on a SWAT call, the women won’t stay away.
***
It was the worst time of her life. Rowen Roberts had finally admitted to herself that the man she loved would never love her back. She was just fired from her job for violating client confidentiality, and to make matters worse, she’s held up at gunpoint in a convenience store where she only wanted some ice cream to help mask the pain.
The moment the gun is pressed to her forehead, she knows she has a decision to make. Follow the rules and maybe possibly live, or go down swinging where at least she can salvage just a little bit of her dignity.
And when Mr. January himself tells her to do what the gunman says, she’s had enough. Rowen has never really been a girl that does what she’s told. Mr. January won’t have to save her. She can dang well save herself.

Just Kidding is the first book in the wonderful start of the SWAT 2.0 series by LLV

Drama, humor a crazy ex girlfriend and a crazy psycho co worker had me hooked on this book.

Rowen Roberts just finished Law school and after pinning for a long time on a man that will never notice her and a crazy b*tch co-worker that’s making her life a living hell moves back to Kilgore.

Love Rowen. She was sassy, smart and also very funny.

Dax Tremain is on the SWAT team and he is Mr. January! And Dax hates it. He doesn’t like to post for pictures after a very bad experience with a crazy ex.

Love Dax. He was swoony, very protective and Alpha.

The banter between the main characters and the secondary characters had me smiling.

It was a quick read with a great storyline.

Will look forward to read the rest of the books in this series.

RELEASE BLITZ and MY REVIEW of Come Back For Me by Corinne Michaels

Come Back for Me, an all-new emotional and riveting
standalone from New York Times Bestselling author Corinne Michaels, is LIVE!
One night, eight years ago, she gave me peace.
No names.
No promises.
Just two broken people, desperate to quiet their pain and
grief.
In the morning, she was gone and had taken my solace with
her. I left for the military that day, vowing never to return to Pennsylvania.
When my father dies, I’m forced to go home to bury him.
At least I’ll finally be rid of his farm, which is grown over and tangled withmemories I’ve fought to forget.

And that’s when I find her. She’s even more beautiful
than I remember and has the most adorable kid I’ve ever seen.
Years have passed, but my feelings are the same, and this
time I refuse to let her go. They say you can’t bury the past, and they’re
right. Because when long-ago secrets are exposed, rocking us both to the core,
I have no choice but to watch her walk away again . . .

What a beautiful book!!

Come back for me is the first book in The Arrowood Brothers by Corinne Michaels. It’s heartwarming, gut wrenching. It gave me so many emotions when I read it.

“I can wait. I will wait. I’ll wait forever”

Connor, Ellie and little Hayden stole my heart in this beautiful book.

Two broken people who went through heartbreaking and horrible pasts and meet again after 8 years.

Connor and Ellie met each other 8 years before when both of them were young and at a low point of their lives. They have never forgotten each other.

Connor Arrowood hates Sugarloaf, a small town in Pennsylvania, and had vowed to never return there. But after his father’s death and due to stipulations in his father’s will he had to go back and stay in the place he and his brothers went through hell in.

“You’re everything I remembered and nothing I was prepared for”

Ellie Wollcot is living in hell. The only good thing in her life is her 7 years old daughter Hadley.

Love Ellie so much!! She went through so much loss and pain but she stayed strong.

And Hadley, OMG she was adorable!

She definitely was the highlight of the book and love her relationship with Connor.

“You’re my best friend Connor”

He smiles over her head, hugging her back.

“I’m a lucky man then”

I read this book in one sitting. I couldn’t put it down. It’s a awesome start in a new series that I will definitely look forward to read. An absolute MUST READ!!

“What’s your favorite movie?”

“Of all time?” he asks.

“Pick one from the past ten years.”

“I can’t,” he says. “There are so many great ones, and I love them all for different reasons. I love the technical aspect of Birdman. I love the performances in Call Me by Your Name. Fantastic Mr. Fox is my favorite cartoon because Wes Anderson is a goddamn genius.” He glances at me. “What about you?”

“I don’t think Fantastic Mr. Fox counts. It seems older than ten years.” I lean my head back and stare up at the ceiling. It’s a tough question. “I’m like you. I don’t know that I have a favorite movie. I tend to judge more on the talent than the story line. I think Emma Stone is probably my favorite actress. And Adam Driver is the best actor of our time, but I don’t think he’s landed the role of his lifetime yet. He was great in BlacKkKlansman, but I’m not crazy about some of the other movies he’s been in.”

“But did you see the Kylo Ren skit?”

“Yes!” I say, sitting up. “On SNL? Oh my God, it was so funny.” I’m smiling, but I hate that I’m smiling. It feels weird to smile when I’m so full of sadness, but this is how Miller makes me feel every time I’m around him. He’s the only thing that seems to be able to take my mind off everything, yet he’s the one person I can’t really hang out with.

Thanks for that, Shelby.

It sucks. I don’t like thinking about it, even though we’re together right now. But tomorrow at school, things will go back to how they always are. Miller will keep his distance. He’ll respect his relationship with Shelby, which will only serve to make me respect him even more.

And I’ll just continue to be in a depressing funk.

“I should go,” I say.

Miller hesitates before moving. “Yeah, I think my break was over ten minutes ago.” We both stand up, but I can’t get out of the aisle because he’s blocking my way, facing me, not making an effort to walk away. He’s just staring down at me as if he wants to say something else. Or do something else.

“I’m really sorry about what happened,” he says. At first, I’m not sure what he’s talking about, but then it hits me. I press my lips together and nod, but I don’t say anything because it’s the last thing I want to talk or think about.

“I should have said that the other day. At the funeral.”

“It’s fine,” I say. “I’m fine. Or at least I’ll be fine. Eventually.” I sigh. “Hopefully.”

He’s staring at me like he wants to pull me in for a hug, and I really wish he would. But instead, he turns and walks out of the aisle, toward the exit. I stop at the restroom on our way out. He grabs a trash can and starts to pull it toward the theater we just came out of.

“See you tomorrow, Clara.”

I don’t tell him goodbye. I walk into the restroom and don’t even bother pretending things will be the same at school tomorrow as they were tonight. He’ll avoid me while being all faithful and shit, and whatever. That’s okay. I need to stop interacting with him anyway, because as good as it feels when I’m around him, it’s starting to hurt when I’m not. And I don’t need another painful thing added to my already existing pile of excruciating feelings.

Excerpt

Closing my eyes, I
take a bite and savor the crisp crust and warm, soft center. There’s nothing
better than fresh-baked bread. It reminds me of home and being in the kitchen
with my grandmomma.
I open my eyes to
find him watching me, his gaze intense with newfound heat. “Good?” His brows
arch and amusement curves his lips.
Ignoring the throb
between my legs, I take another bite, not stopping until I’ve finished.
Harry returns with
our drinks, advising our food will be out momentarily. I guess Marcus is joining
me for dinner. I didn’t necessarily agree, but it seems too late to turn him
away now.
Marcus butters more
bread for himself and then for me. “I never meant to make an enemy of you, or
your grandmother.” His voice is gentle, soothing my frayed nerves. “On the
contrary, I’ve always hoped we could be more.”
“More? You’re trying
to buy my building, take my grandparents’ antique store from me. That’s my
home, my job. It’s… everything. What more could you possibly want, a kidney?”
My voice having reached a volume I don’t care for, I ease back, taking a deep
breath, and let it out slowly.
Composed, I
continue. “Can we not do this today?”
I’m interrupted by
Harry with our meal. He sets down two steaming bowls of Thai noodle soup and
another basket of fresh bread.
“Enjoy.” He bows as
he backs away.
“Thanks, Harry,” we
say simultaneously.
My gaze flies to
Marcus. He knows Harry’s name? I pegged Marcus as being too self-important to
bother learning his name—or anyone else who serves him. Maybe I’m the one who
doesn’t know who Marcus is.
Marcus smiles and
points to my soup. “Shrimp bowl?”
“It’s my favorite.”
I note he’s having the same.
“Me too.” He cocks
his head. “See, we have something in common. I bet if you got to know me, you’d
see we share more than just a love of Thai shrimp noodle soup.”
More? Somehow, I
doubt that. I have nothing in common with this man. I can’t deny I’m attracted
to him, but his rugged good looks, finger-tousled dark hair, and tall, muscular
build cannot compensate for the truth of what he wants.
“Why not today?”
Reading my perplexed expression, he clarifies. “I said I’d hoped we could be
more, and you said I was taking everything from you, then you asked if we could
not do this today
.”
“Oh, yes. That.” I
stir my soup and take a tentative sip. It’s good and hot, liquid gold. I fish
around, playing with the noodles. “I’d just rather not fight today. That’s
all.”
He leans closer.
“I’d rather not fight with you any day. But, why not today in particular?” He’s
a determined SOB.
I study my bowl like
it’s the most interesting thing in the room—which would be a lie. The man
across from me clearly holds that title. The heat of his gaze burrows into my
brain.
I can’t say it out
loud. I can’t bear the pity I might see on his face if I were to look up. I
shake my head, taking another sip of soup and then a long drink of water,
blinking back my tears.
“It’s a year today,”
he says with reverence.
Smart man. I guess
he is paying attention.
